Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving,
make every day a holiday and celebrate just living!
[Amanda Bradley]
I’m still decorating the big tree—making more bows. Hanging ornaments reminded me of browsing through a photo album. Some even brought tears to my eyes as memories of Christmases past rushed in. I even found the Christmas sock I used to hang as a child—65 years has faded the red to pink, but it is still beautiful to me. When the church bells ring across the street on Christmas morning, I’ll be ready for folks to arrive for breakfast and laughter.
If I were closer, I’d fill that sock (I’m a Santa you know). I just got home from Kroger’s, and decided Santa needed a piece of pumpkin pie while she filled socks. Grin.
You house looks wonderful for Christmas–warm and inviting as Christmas should be. I too have a stocking made by your mother. It has been hanging each Christmas for forty years now. It has had many homes in those 40 years- Georgia, North Carolina ( several locations there), Oklahoma, New Hampshire, and even Guadalajara, Mexico, and Newport in Wales, UK one year. Christmas always brings warm memories and the love from family that follows us no matter where we are. Although miles, years, and life circumstances brings change in our lives the holidays season helps to unite our hearts once again. Merry Christmas– Mr. Smitty
Absolutely lovely, Katherine. I know just what you mean about the ornaments and stockings from the past and all the memories wrapped in them :^)
Wishing you the very best Christmas and Holidays with your family and friends.
Are the doilies and tree skirt knitted? They are beautiful! I missed you at the guild meeting – it was a small crowd, but fun.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! Have fun with your family & all those lucky recipients of the handmade socks:)
